Local Detroit bands: Metro Times and MotorCity Casino Hotel are proud to present Battle of the Bands! This event was started to support local music and give unsigned bands the chance to win the opportunity of a lifetime. There are over $6,500 worth of cash prizes plus performance opportunities to open for a national act on the MotorCity Sound Board stage! All you need to do is submit a video of your band performing an original song and you could win! Make your voice heard and your vote count. The top 7 will perform live at MotorCity Sound Board and battle to win. See you February 10th for the battle to end all battles!
Rules:
• 21+ to attend, 18+ for band members to perform.
• Bands can load one video and each email address can vote once per day.
• All submissions must be of an original song.
• Top seven vote getters will perform Thursday February 10th at The MotorCity Sound Board for a chance to win the grand prize.
• The top seven will perform a 20 minute set 3-4 songs to determine the winner. In the set the band must perform at least one original track as well as one cover of a local Detroit act.
• There will be a panel of judges combined with audience participation (applause meter) will determine a winner.
Prizes:
$5,000 cash for winner
$1,000 cash for second place
$500 cash for third place
